A lil' History

It's 1670, in a town in Germany called Cologne, at Cologne Cathedral, the choir instructed wished to quite the noise caused by children in his church during Christmas Eve. He asked a local candy maker for some sweet sticks for them. In order to justify the practice of giving candy to children during worship services, he asked the candy maker to add a loop to the top, which would symbolize the shepherds who came to visit to baby Jesus. He also used the white color of the converted sticks to teach children about the Christian belief in the sinless life of Jesus, while the red repents the blood he shead. That's something that is a good story to tell someone while they are gnawing on a candy cane. And who doesn't like them?

Happy Holidays! (:

Holiday plans (:

Goodness, the holidays are so close, I'm so excited! I have so many plans and I just hope I get through them all. This week I am going to see The Hobbit with my boyfriend on Friday, a friend's birthday party this Saturday and on Sunday I have another winter session. Next week I want to finish making the rest of my Christmas presents and get them all wrapped; we will see how that goes! I don't completely believe in the whole "Mayan calender" " the world ending" thing, but if it does, I have planned how I want to spend it. On the 20th, I want my boyfriend to come over and we can snuggle on the couch at have a Harry Potter movie marathon. Yes, it's ridiculous, but I can't find a better way to spend my last moments.

On Christmas I am going to wake up with the kiddos and unwrap tons of presents... and hopefully be able to go to sleep afterward! Haha, my boyfriend plans on coming to visit and we will probably spend some time together. Maybe see Les Miserable?

After Christmas is over I want to go snowboarding at some point before New Year's. Oh, speaking on New Year's, I'm not doing anything special! Haha, all I'm going to do is watch the ball drop, most likely with my boyfriend, and then go to bed.

Yep.... Those are my plans! What's yours?

Quick little tid-bits about me (:

My name is Sierra Thomas, a young aspiring photographer, I love to draw, dress shop, being cuddled while watching movies, read, being outdoors, snow, of course taking pictures, and I can't be away from my family.

I want nothing else but to own a sloth, I completely adore them. They act just like a human baby,  if you were to leave the room to do laundry, all they want is to hang on to your back, they also love being tickled and play peek-a-boo! And to add to the awesomeness; they only go to the bathroom once a week!

When I'm bored I love watching random YouTube videos, destroy my house with a random craft, prepare for a new promotion sale or indulge in my newest obsession; which has been America's funniest home videos and My Fair Wedding. I'm also horribly addicted to Pinterest. I planned my whole life on there knowing fully that it will never happen.

As a child I collected teddy bears, I now roughly own 240 of them, somewhere in my house. I traveled all over the west coast. I have lived in Washington, where I was born, Arizona, Utah and Oregon, which is where I live now. I have traveled to a lot more the that, but never been to to east coast. I plan on visiting the United Kingdom before I turn 25, and I want to stay close to a month there. I loved Peter Pan when I was young and ever since then wanted to visit there.

I also really loved Lion King, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, the Sandlot, Pete's dragon and Toy Story. Though I grew out of cartoons at a really early age, to watch HGTV and Food Network, I did love Rocket Power, Teen Titans, Rugrats and Avatar the last Airbender. I'm also hugely obessted with Harry Potter, but then again, who isn't? I'm such a nerd when it comes to Harry Potter and I'm also well rounded in super heros, Star Wars, Zelda and pretty much any video game you play on Play Station.

That was just some fun, yet random, facts about myself (:

Have a wonderful Holiday season!
